As of October 2018, nearly 73 million Americans were enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), 50.7% of which were children. In Kentucky, there were over 1.2 million Medicaid/CHIP enrollees as of October 2018—nearly one fourth of the state’s population.
